Abstract
This talk will highlight useful preparation for a career in data analytics as well as what the work of a data analyst looks like in education. Program evaluation, statistical modeling, dashboarding, and strategic planning will all be discussed.
Bio
Devyn Shafer earned her B.A. in physics from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. and Ph.D. in physics with a research focus in physics education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She recently completed the Strategic Data Project fellowship of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University as part of her work as a Data Analyst at Columbus City Schools.
