Our experimental efforts are focused on heavy-ion collisions as part of the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory and on proton-proton and heavy-ion collisions as part of the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
We are also involved in the preparation for the future Electron-Ion Collider, to be built at Brookhaven National Laboratory by the early 2030s.
Our theoretical research efforts span topics that include:
- High-energy QCD and saturation
- Proton spin and structure
- Heavy ion physics
- Nuclear structure
- Rernormalization group and effective field theory methods for nuclear many-body systems
- Bayesian statistics
- Computational physics
Our group is funded by the NSF and DOE, and the theorists are important members of funded national networks, including several DOE Topical Collaborations.
