Quantum simulation using trapped ion arrays

Georgia Tech Quantum Institute

Trapped ion arrays are being used for quantum simulations of condensed matter systems. Trapping large ion arrays and array complexes is best accomplished using microfabricated ion traps. Design, fabrication and testing of these traps at Georgia Tech Research Institute will be described. Insights into the awesome potential for quantum simulations and information processing in the future will be given.
