Aaron Chen, Physics Graduate Student, receives PhD Dissertation Research Award from American Physical Society

Aaron Chen, a graduate student in Professor R. Sooryakumar's group, was recently notified that he has been awarded the PhD Dissertation Research Award by the American Physical Society Topical Group on Magnetism and its Applications.  This award recognizes outstanding dissertation research in magnetism.

Aaron will receive a cash prize of $500, an additional $250 towards travel expenses for the March Meeting, and will present an invited talk at the 2013 American Physical Society March Meeting in Baltimore, MD in one of the sponsored focus topic sessions. 

Aaron was also recently awarded an OSU Presidential Fellowship that embodies the highest standards of scholarship in our graduate programs. He is currently in the final stages of his Ph.D.  The recognition Aaron has received from the APS further affirms the quality of his research and overall on-going progress he is making as a graduate student in our department.
