Professor Tin-Lun (Jason) Ho was recently awarded a prestigious Simons Fellowship in Theoretical Physics for his grant submission entitled “Fundamental Issues in Degenerate Quantum Gases.”  This program extends funding of the recipient’s academic leave from one term to a full year, enabling them to focus solely on research.  Professor Ho is among only 27 principal investigators to receive this funding in the Simon Foundation’s inaugural year of awarding these grants. The announcement of these awards appeared in the "Science Times" section of the New York Times on March 6, 2012.
