Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. The Graduate Women in Physics (GWiP) decided to reach out to the community of Columbus this holiday season by organizing a charity drive.  From November 7thto November 18th, GWiP collected used and new coats, hats, scarves, gloves, towels, blankets, clothing, and toiletries from the students, faculty and staff of the OSU Department of Physics. At the end of the drive, a total of 666.5 pounds (2,965 Newtons) of donations were collected!  All items were donated to either the Columbus YWCA or the Columbus Open Shelter, where they will be used to help the homeless and marginally housed people of Columbus.
