Department of Physics hosted theSpring Meeting of the Ohio-Region Section of the American Physical Society last weekend (April 13-14)

The Ohio Section of the American Physical Society met at Ohio State on April 13 and 14, 2012.  The theme of the meeting was Biophysics. Plenary speakers included:  Yann Chemla from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Peter Lu (Ohio Eminent Scholar) from Bowling Green State University, Ka Yee Lee from the University of Chicago and our own Michael Poirier.  In addition, Marty Golubitsky from Ohio State University gave the after dinner talk. 

More than 120 faculty, research scientists, graduate students and undergraduates attended the plenary sessions and contributed talks and poster session.  The Society of Physics Students ran a zone meeting in parallel with the meeting and the Ohio State SPS group hosted them for meals and overnight.

The next OSAPS meeting is scheduled for October 5-6, 2012 at Wayne State University - please check the OSAPS website periodically for more details.
