Professor Roland Kawakami Wins 2026 Undergraduate Teaching Award

Professor Roland Kawakami was surprised on Tuesday April 28 during the Physics Spring Picnic when Professor Annika Peter, Vice-Chair for Undergraduate Studies, announced to the audience that Prof. Kawakami won the 2026 Physics Undergraduate Teaching Award. This award is given annually and is voted on by undergraduate physics and engineering physics majors.

This year Professor Kawakami taught Physics 1250H (Honors Physics: Mechanics and Conservation Laws; Special Relativity) during autumn semester 2025 and Physics 1271 (E&M, Thermal Physics, Waves, and  Quantum Physics for Majors) during spring 2026.
