Professor Len Brillson was recently selected as a 2013 Fellow of the Materials Research Society.

The title of MRS Fellow honors those MRS members who are notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research, world-wide. The maximum number of new Fellow appointments each year is limited to 0.2% of the current MRS membership. The distinction is thus highly selective.

Professor Brillson's citation for this award reads:: “For seminal contributions to the understanding and control of semiconductor interfaces, their metallurgical reactions, native point defects, and electronic properties.”

The 2013 MRS Fellows will be recognized and honored at a special reception at the 2013 MRS Spring Meeting on Tuesday April 2 in San Francisco.

Professor Brillson is also a fellow of The American Physical Society (APS), The American Vacuum Society (AVS), The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) , The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) as well.

The Department of Physics extends its warmest congratulations!
