Professor Eric Braaten receives prestigious Simons Fellowship

For the second year in a row, the Department of Physics has a professor receiving the Simons Fellowship in Theoretical Physics.  This year Eric Braaten will receive this fellowship.  This program extends funding of the receipient's academic leave from one term to a full year, enabling them to focus solely on reearch.  Professor Braaten is among only 15 principal investigators to receive this funding in Theoretical Physics.  The announcement of the awardees appeard in the "Science Times" section of the New York Times on March 7, 2013.  For more information on the Simons Foundation, click here.  Congratulations Professor Braaten!!
