GRASP Summer Camp continues through June 22

The annual GRASP (Girls Reaching to Achieve in Sports and Physics) Summer Camp began June 11. Two week-long sessions will be held with 30 middles school girl attending each session. This is the fifth year for this exciting and fun learning experience that aims to increase the number of women in STEM disciplines. A cooperative effort between the Physics Undergraduate Studies Office and The Society of Women in Physics, this camp combines lectures on topics in physics with demonstration and sports related to that topic. Interactive demonstrations, special projects and physical activities are all part of this camp. So when you see a bunch of young ladies in the Atrium laughing and shreeking in amazement, remember they are also learning that science can be fun.
There is a special development fund established to help defray expenses not covered by the registration fees. If you would like to contribute, please designate fund 313987 on your check, or mark it GRASP.
