Forty-eight Physics and Engineering Physics Majors Graduate in 2012-13 Academic Year

The most recent class of Physics and Engineering Physics Graduates leaves OSU with a wealth of experiences and a wide range of interests.
Fourteen Engineering Physics majors and 34 Arts and Science Physics majors graduated during the 2012-2013 academic year. Of this year's graduates 81% participated in undergraduate research and/or an internship during their time in the program. This includes research at OSU in Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, and Math and internships with companies and research centers including IBM, NASA Glenn, JP Morgan Chase, Newport Corp, Nationwide Financial, Eli Lilly and Company, Great American Financial Resources, Dynamix Engineering, Nanotech West, University of Chicago, Princeton Plasma Physics Lab, and University of Paderborn.
In addition to their majors, this year’s graduating students pursued second majors in Actuarial Science, Astronomy, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science & Engineering, Math, Russian, and Sociology. They pursued minors in Astronomy, Business, Classics, Computer Science & Engineering, Film Studies, Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship, International Affairs, Math, Nuclear Engineering, Philosophy, and Spanish.
Of those graduating, 58% indicated that they’re enrolling in graduate programs for physics, astronomy, math, optics, chemistry, engineering, and education, and 35% are beginning full time employment. The remaining students are pursuing other career paths such as medical school and military service.
