Bunny and Thomas Clark Graduate Scholarship awardees are chosen

Li and Hampton win Clark Scholarship

The department of Physics is proud to announce the most recent winners of the Bunny and Thomas Clark Graduate Scholarship.

Shirley Li, recent PhD graduate advised by John Beacom and Shaun Hampton current student advised by Samir Mathur are the newest awardees.

These scholarship funds are the result of the generosity of Professor Bunny Clark and her husband Dr. Thomas Clark (Pictured in 2002 below) to recognize research accomplishments and service to the department.  Bunny was the first female professor in the department of Physics and desired to further the diversity mission of the department.  She was part of the Nuclear Theory Group and was named Distinguished University Professor before her retirement and subsequent death.  Bunny was a tireless advocate of women in the sciences.
