Motivated by the recent observation of transverse polarization in heavy ion collisions, I discuss the meaning of the relativistic ideal hydrodynamic limit when polarization is present. Using Lagrangian techniques, I derive this limit and show that causality implies a minimal amount of dissipation when polarization is non-zero. I discuss what happens when Gauge symmetries are present.
