High Energy Physics Seminar - Conor Henderson (University of Alabama) - Searches for Extra Dimensions with CMS
Discovery of extra dimensions of space would revolutionize our view of the universe. They may also provide a solution to the hierarchy problem of the Standard Model, through modifications of the strength of the gravitational force. This talk explores the theoretical motivations to search for evidence of extra dimensions in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, and presents recent results of such searches by the CMS experiment
