Dr. James Beacham

Post Doctoral Researcher

I’m a post-doctoral research fellow with the ATLAS group at The Ohio State University, based at CERN.

I do experimental high energy particle physics. I work on experiments at the LHC (ATLAS) and at Jefferson Lab (APEX). I’m interested in extensions of the Standard Model, from searching for new gauge bosons to probing the invisible width of the Higgs, as well as other scenarios related to supersymmetry and possible explanations for dark matter.

Areas of Expertise
  • High Energy Particle Physics.
Education
  • Ph.D., Experimental Particle Physics, New York University
  • B.S./B.A. Double major in Physics and Mathematics, University of California, Santa Cruz
  • B.A. Film Studies, University of Utah
