Prof. Mathur and his students find a flaw in the theory that black holes are surrounded by a burning ring of fire

Professor Samir Mathur and his team building on previous work from 2004 have recently published their work in the Journal of High Energy Physics.  Their work suggests that black holes are not surrounded by a burning ring of fire, but are basically like a giant messy ball of yarn, gathering more and more heft as new objects are sucked in.  Read more
