The Department Picnic was the location of the announcement of the 2023 John G. Whitcomb Distinguished Staff Awards.  Jenny Finnell, Lindsey Thaler, and Becky Daskalova each received a crystal trophy from the Chair, Michael Poirier, and will receive a $750.00 one-time cash award. 

Jenny, Lindsey, and Becky were nominated by professors, staff members and students. Members of the Physics Staff Advisory Committee interviewed additional supporters to provide consistent packages of materials to be evaluated. The award is named for John Whitcomb, a former Department Manager.

Congratulations! Your hard work is much appreciated in the Department! And the picnic was enthusiastically enjoyed by a large crowd.
