The Ohio State University Department of Physics has funds available for undergraduate travel for those presenting at conferences, symposiums or seminars. Please note that students attending the following conferences are eligible for funding whether or not they are presenting: CuWiP, SACNAS, NSBP.
The department will pay up to $500 in travel costs in the form of prepaid airfare, lodging, registration or reimbursement after the trip.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be a major or pre-major in Physics or Engineering Physics at OSU and presenting their research at a conference, symposium or seminar. Please note that students attending the following conferences are eligible for funding whether or not they are presenting: CuWiP or NSBP.
- Must submit completed application by the application deadline listed below.
- Applicant must check with their research advisor to see if they can provide additional funding.
PLEASE NOTE: The maximum amount that can be awarded is $500, but this will not be received as a cash amount. The amount awarded will be determined by what items need covered. Prepayment of airfare, lodging or registration is preferred, but if not possible, reimbursement will be made once the trip is concluded.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT TRAVEL FUNDING: It is preferred that students submit the below information at least 1 month prior to their trip. Applications submitted less than 2 weeks before the trip will not be accepted. Questions should be directed to Carly Scopel (scopel.6@osu.edu).
