The Department of Astronomy and CCAPP invite you to a public lecture on Death By Black Hole by Christopher Kochanek, Ohio Eminent Scholar and Professor of Astronomy. This lecture will explore the deaths of massive stars, including how these stars can explode as supernovae, and how they may lead to the formation of black holes. Professor Kochanek will present some exciting new results from his survey for black holes in formation with the Large Binocular Telescope, and evidence that they have caught a black hole in formation.RegisterRegister at our eventbrite page.
