High Energy Seminar - Thomas Banks (Rutgers University and University of California Santa Cruz) "Holographic Space-Time, the Super-BMS algebra, Unitarity and Information Loss"
Please note special time and locationHolographic Space-time is a general theory of "quantum gravity" . It gives a very simple account of the very early universe, and a slightly more complicated account of the inflationary era. We have only recently BEGUN to understand how to obtain the usual results of perturbative string theory and effective field theory from this formalism. The biggest surprise has been the existence of a huge entropy of very low energy states in large causal diamonds in asymptotically flat space. {\it There are more (low energy) things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in quantum field theory.}
