The Physics Department inhabits the Physics Research Building (191 W. Woodruff Avenue) and office, classroom, student lab, and machine shop space in Smith Lab (174 W. 18th Avenue).
Our highly talented staff provide hardware and software support and creative problem solving for the computer needs of the faculty and staff of the Department of Physics for administrative, academic and research issues.
Electronics Lab staff support research efforts in the Department of Physics with design, production, testing and repair of custom electronics.
This laboratory operated by the OSU Center for Electronic and Magnetic Nanoscale Composite Multifunctional Materials exists to provide academic and industrial users with access to advanced material characterization and fabrication tools for research and development applications.
This library located just one street south of the PRB at 175 West 18th Avenue is open 24 hours year round.
The collection covers astronomy, chemistry and chemical and biomolecular engineering, computer science, engineering, geodetic science, mathematics, patents & trademarks, physics and statistics.
Reference resources available at the library provide information on women and minorities in science and engineering, as well as access to e-journals
The Terra Byte Cafe located in the Northwest corner of the first floor and offers fresh sandwiches, salads, yogurt parfaits, muffins, hummus, edamame, coffee, specialty drinks and more. The cafe is open until 11:00 pm most evenings (8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday). Cash, Buck-ID, plus a variety of credit card and university payment options are available.
