The Annual Physics Picnic was the location of the announcement of the 2014 John G. Whitcomb Distinguished Staff Awards.  This year the three winners were Kris Dunlap, Lisa Colarosa and Eric Robbins.  Each received a crystal trophy and a $750.00 one time cash award. 

In addition to the three award winners, the following staff received Honorable Mention and a gift card in appreciation of their excellent work:  Jean Ball, Matt Barber, Jim Burns, Mary Kay Jackson, Trisch Longbrake and Jonathan Shover.

All of those listed above were nominated by their supervisors, peers or students. Members of the Physics Staff Advisory Committee interviewed nominators and additional supporters to provide consistent packages of materials to be evaluated.  This change to the process yielded more nominations than in past years and the quality of the materials assembled was also better, enabling the selection committee to make the difficult decision of naming only three winners.

John Whitcomb, former Dept. Manager, for whom this award has been named, was on hand to present the awards to the winners.
